If you haven’t heard of the name Lauren Esposito you have now. She hit the screens at the age of 18 playing Margaret Hodgson in 2016’s The Conjuring 2 and Cynthia In the well known Australian TV series Love Child. Passionate, driven and inspired; I stumbled across her instagram and couldn’t wait to chat with this beautiful starlet. Currently living in LA Lauren gave an insight into her hectic acting/modelling life, vegan diet and the struggles she has been faced with throughout her career so far.
Thank You So Much For Taking The Time To Answer These Questions Lovely And Welcome To Healthy Karma! First Up, Can You Tell Us A Little Bit About Yourself, Who Is Lauren?
Lauren: Hey girl, I’m Lauren and I’m a 20 year old Aussie actress living in Los Angeles. I began acting for film around the age of 17 but before that did many musical theatre shows from the age of 12. Performing has always been my biggest passion in life. I also love health and fitness. I work out every day in the gym weight training and follow a vegan diet. I will also be beginning my personal training course very soon to become a qualified PT which I am extremely excited about too!
What Does A Day On A Plate Look Like For You?
Lauren: A day on a plate for me consists of either porridge with dates, vegan protein powder and chia seeds or an acai bowl with peanut butter (i’m OBSESSED with acai bowls!) Lunch is usually either tofu scramble on 2 slices of toast or a bowl of veggies with rice and tempeh. Snacks consist of green smoothies or I’ll have a clift bar or make some vegan protein balls. Dinner is generally a bowl of lentils, and chickpeas with lots of veggies and nutritional yeast (the best topping ever invented).
Has There Been Any Struggles That You’ve Been Faced With And If So, How Did You Overcome Them?
Lauren: Being an actress, there have been many struggles as it is a very tough career path and getting there takes a lot of motivation and resilience. Mentally it is extremely draining and I do have days occasionally where I feel down because it is such a hard industry to succeed in. But my mentality towards it is that I just need to be strong and trust myself. Loving what I do also helps me a lot with the rejection that comes with acting. It motivates me to keep going even when I get pushed down.
You Hit The Screens At The Age Of 18 Playing The Role Of Margaret Hodgson In 2016’S The Conjuring 2 And Cynthia In Love Child, How Has It Been Dealing With Industry Pressures At Such A Young Age?
Lauren: I was very lucky to be able to work on such an amazing show and film. It was difficult after filming the pressure of booking your next gig. It’s just something that daunts I think almost every actor and actress because being on a set just gives me life and happiness.
The Acting And Modelling Industry Is So Cut-Throat, What Do You Attribute Your Current Success To And Do You Have Any Advice For Those Looking To Get Into The Industry?
Lauren: My advice to anyone wanting to start modelling or acting is to just go for it. If it is something you want to do, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Make things happen for yourself and trust your abilities.
With a packed schedule, it must be hard to fit in exercise. What do you do to stay motivated and maintain an active and healthy lifestyle?
Lauren: I think I’m quite lucky in the fact that I don’t really need much motivation to workout. I just absolutely love exercising and how great it makes me feel. One of my top tips would be for anyone looking for motivation is to work out in the mornings. Have your active wear ready near your bed and your gym bag packed so you have no excuse.
